Fantasy padlocks are designs that
were never originally made for a hardware Co. or padlock manufacture.
Reproductions are copies of the original design made for a hardware
Co. or padlock manufacture. Some fantasy padlocks were made by very talented
locksmiths and hobbyists, not to deceive the lock collecting community, but rather
to enrich and amuse us all.
You will need to take care when buying any type of locking device as there have been a flood of fantasy and reproductions making their way into the market place, some being of better quality requiring in-depth scrutiny.
